DAY TRIP TO JEREZ DE LA FRONTERA

Cathedrals of Wine
Day trip to Jerez de la Frontera to visit the most outstanding wines and wineries.

Day trip to Jerez, an excursion to discover the Jerez-Xérès-Sherry appellation.

The place where wine cellars turn into true cathedrals

In this day trip to Jerez de la Frontera you will learn all about the wine culture of the Jerez-Xérès-Sherry Denomination of Origin. For this we have designed an itinerary through the keys of wine in Jerez.

You will learn about the entire wine production process, from the cultivation of the vines in the Marco de Jerez to the aging in barrels, including the production of the different types of wines.

The route will begin by entering the countryside of Jerez, specifically in an area classified as “Jerez Superior”. It is a special area due to its geological and climatic characteristics where the highest quality grapes are grown and dedicated to the production of the most exquisite wines. We will visit a family vineyard of great reputation and where the winemaking tradition of Jerez is maintained. There you will meet the owners of the winery and expert winemakers who will accompany you in your experience. This visit includes a tasting of one of their wines with an aperitif.

To continue discovering the history of sherry wine you will enter one of the oldest wineries in the world. The size and aesthetics of the wineries of Jerez have earned them the name of “ cathedrals of wine”. Strolling among its rows of barrels is awe-inspiring.

Of course, in this day trip to Jerez you can not miss a good tasting of the best Andalusian wines. You will have a tasting guided by an expert to discover all the nuances of four wines of Jerez and take all the memories in your palate. In addition, this tasting will be accompanied by delicious Andalusian tapas.

For lunch we will prepare a reservation in a special restaurant or, if you prefer, you can opt for our perfect complement, a lunch with wine pairing that also includes a premium visit to the wineries. With this complement you will be able to visit exclusive places that are usually closed to the public and taste excellent wines with 30 years of aging.

But as Jerez is not all about wine, you will also take a guided tour to visit the Cathedral and the Alcazar of Jerez de la Frontera. These are the two main monuments of the city and attest to the importance of this city from the Middle Ages to the present day.
