We start with an extraordinary sensory tasting of extra virgin olive oils paired with very special small bites. Once we have captured all the aroma of Jaen, it’s time to walk around the city.

A visit to the imposing Cathedral, the only one in the world completely surrounded by balconies and designed by the distinguished Andrés de Vandelvira in the 16th century, is a must on your tour of Jaen. You will be amazed to see this masterpiece of the Spanish Renaissance.

Afterwards, your local guide will accompany you through the narrow and stately streets of the historic area of Jaen. Along the way you will enjoy Christian palaces and temples that you can visit depending on the day you choose.

An essential stop will be the Palace of Villardompardo, where you will have access to an exceptionally preserved hammam from the Muslim period, more than 1,000 years old. It was hidden for centuries until it was discovered in the foundations of the palace in the 20th century.

This is the moment to taste the gastronomy of Jaen, a cuisine with a lot of character and authenticity. For lunch we will prepare a reservation for you in a haute cuisine restaurant in the city centre, where a renowned chef will delight you.

In the afternoon we will visit the castle of Santa Catalina, an Arab and later Christian fortress that dominates the city and the mountain landscape of Jaen like no other due to its exceptional height. Its spectacular nature lies in the exaggerated narrowness of the fortification, which is adapted to the steep crest of the mountain. For almost 300 years it was a frontier with the neighbouring Muslim kingdom of Granada and today it is listed as a Historic-Artistic Monument of Spain.
